Putting Students First. Always.

Why I’m running

Education changed my life.

As a child from poverty, I found stability, safety, and hope in my schools. Teachers and administrators saw my potential before I did, guiding me toward a college degree and a brighter future.

For the past 20 years, I have served as a teacher, principal, and now, a non-profit leader — pouring back into students the same way others poured into me. I’m running for school board to ensure every student in San Juan Unified has access to the opportunities, safety, and support they deserve — keeping students at the center of decision-making. Always.

My top priorities

Protect safe, inclusive schools where every child feels a sense of belonging.

Academic Excellence Through Research-Based Practices gives every student the tools needed to succeed.

Strengthen pathways from early learning to college and careers, so every student is prepared for the future.

Proven results in education

  • Boosting Literacy: At Dyer Kelly Elementary, I led the Early Literacy Support Block Grant, creating daily small-group literacy interventions for 700+ students. This moved English Learners into the blue category on the California dashboard and significantly raised literacy rates campus-wide.

  • Stronger School Culture: As principal at Lichen TK-8, I helped transform the school into a stand-out option in Citrus Heights, leading my team to earn a California Gold Award for Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports.

  • Showing Up for Our Kids: As a parent, I have served as a member of PTA, as a room parent and I currently serve on the Curriculum and Standards Committee for SJUSD.

These achievements show what’s possible when leadership keeps students at the center.

Deep roots in San Juan Unified

I’ve served at 12 school sites across the district, giving me a broad understanding of the diverse needs of our 64 schools. I also live in Trustee Area 3 - these schools are in my neighborhood. My neighbors, my friends, and my family are part of this community. I am deeply committed to ensuring their voice is present on the dais when decisions are being made that impact them.

Why choose me?

Experience matters when children’s futures are on the line. I bring:

  • 20 years of service across the full spectrum of education - preschool through adult learning

  • Leadership that listens and leads with integrity

  • The perspective of both an educator and a parent with children in SJUSD

I don’t just talk about education - I’ve lived it, led it, and trusted my own children to it.

I need your vote

On election day, I ask for your vote to ensure every child in our community can attend schools where they feel safe, included, and prepared for their future. Together, we can protect our schools from the politics of division and create a district where families know their children are truly supported.

Let’s put students first - always.
